Living Better Counseling opened it's doors in South Florida in 2012. Beginning September 2019 LBC has relocated to Cary, North Carolina. Living Better Counseling is run by Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Carolina Robbins. 

Carolina Robbins is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Perinatal Mental Health Counselor, and EMDR Certified Therapist. She has over 19 years of experience working in social services, psychiatric hospitals, treatment centers, and outpatient centers. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Florida State University and earned a Masters in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. Currently, she is a student at Barry University working towards her Doctorate in Social Work. 

Further certifications include the Postpartum Support International certificate program in perinatal mental health or PMH-C which was completed in 2020. In 2021, Carolina began to pursue certification in EMDR. After several months of training, clinical practice hours, and consultation she became an EMDR Certified Therapist in 2022. Carolina also fluently speaks Spanish.

In 2021, Carolina and two other co-founders created a Perinatal Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Anchor Perinatal Wellness in Raleigh, North Carolina. APW was created due to the lack of higher-level care programs available serving pregnant and postpartum birth givers. There are only 25 programs in the country that specialize in perinatal moods and anxiety disorders in fifteen states. Carolina proudly owns and operates APW when not working in private practice. Carolina is a trauma specialist, maternal mental health and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders supporting individuals. She draws from many evidenced-based treatment modalities to effectively address issues that bring someone into therapeutic services. Her professional experience has helped individuals and/or families affected by mental illness and/or substance abuse issues. During her professional career, Carolina has treated issues such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse disorders, trauma, and specializes in perinatal mental health. Carolina has a dynamic personality that immediately engages the client. She continues the engagement of the client through face-to-face sessions, texts, personal phone calls, homework assignments, emails, and social media networks. Carolina has the utmost dedication to each client with personalized treatment planning and attention.

Carolina was born and raised in South Florida. She relocated to triangle area in 2018. She lives locally with her husband and two children. Carolina enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, being outdoors, cooking, reading, paddleboarding and scuba diving.
